By this time, most school-age kids have kicked off another school year. Moms sending their kids to public or private schools have made sure their kiddos have all the supplies they need. They are making sure they get lots of rest and sending them off to school with breakfast in their bellies. Homeschool moms have ordered their curriculum and made their lesson plans. They have set up their daily schedule and organized their materials.
You have gotten your children off to a great start, and they are geared up for another year of learning. But what about you, mom? What are you studying this year? Today I will start my school year. For the last several years, I have been studying the Bible with Bible Study Fellowship International. To say this study has made a huge impact in my spiritual life seems like the understatement of the century! It is the first place where I really learned how to study the Bible for myself. This year we will be studying the Acts of the Apostles. You can read more about BSF and find a local class in your area here. BSF is a free inter-denominational and international study with classes in over 30 countries. They offer day classes with a preschool children's program and night classes with a school-age children’s program.
What will you do to study the Bible this year? Will you attend BSF? Is there a study at your local church? Can you study along with Kay Arthur through her daily podcast? How will you grow in your relationship with the LORD this year?
I'm going to my first BSF class since leaving Fayetteville...we didn't have one in St. George. Now I have access to 3 different places...going to Portland tonight. So excited to dig back in...even more excited about the structure of it all. I crave structure!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to go back and glad we are studying the same thing! Doesn't it make you feel like home just because the structure is familiar. I remember bawling my eyes at through the hymns at the class in Houston just because it was finally something that wasn't new to me!
