The first Christmas we were married I went to a Christmas women’s event at the church we were attending where the focus was on different ways to keep your family centered on Christ during the holiday season. One of their suggestions involved Christmas cards and I must say this has become one of my favorite traditions! Each day we wait to open the Christmas cards until we are seated at the dinner table together. We open the cards and spend a few minutes praying for the families that we received cards from before blessing our meal. This year, I am going to try a new way of displaying the cards so that I can pray for them throughout the month. I love that it will add a little Christmas cheer to my kitchen as well!

We don't have any Christmas cards yet, so I used a piece of mail from today. :) I think I will pick up some red paper clips to attach the cards with. |
Today kicks off the "25 Days of Christmas" on Rubies and Rewards. Each day I will share an idea for keeping this season focused on celebrating the Savior. Please share your ideas as well! The more the merrier!
Merry Christmas!
I LOVE this idea!! This is so practical and simple, that I want to incorporate it for our family, too. Thank you for the idea!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely idea. I also will enjoy telling my children about the families in the cards, many they will not know. I am sure it will be a great conversation starter, too. Thank you. Can't wait to hear more ideas this month.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea to pray for your friends and family that way ~ definitely will be adding this to our routine as well! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo you better send me a Christmas card friend! Ha!
ReplyDeleteYou are right! We have lived in several different places and I love to get cards from around the country at Christmas. As our boys grow we can share these families with them even though they have never met them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I was actually thinking of not doing cards this year to save money, but I don't think I can do it! Gotta have Christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteI think your girls should make my boys a homemade Christmas card! :)
