Many of the ideas in 25 Days of Christmas are geared towards toddlers because that is just where I am, but this is a great idea for older children. To help place a focus or emphasis on serving others, hang a large stocking or place a big jar somewhere in the house where everyone passes it several times each day. Through the month of December, place extra money or change in the stocking/jar. Just before Christmas, take the money buy food for a local food bank or toiletries for a homeless shelter.
